Retirement of Chairman & Appointment of New Chairman
May & Baker Nigeria Plc ("May & Baker" or "the Company") wishes to notify The Nigerian Stock Exchange (The Exchange), the Company's shareholders and the investing public that at the Board Meeting of the Company held on Friday, 27th September, 2019 at MUSON Centre, Onikan, Lagos:
Lt. Gen. Theophilus Yakubu Danjuma (Rtd) (GCON) retired as a Director and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of our Company with effect from the close of business on 27th September, 2019; and
Senator Daisy Ehanire Danjuma was appointed as the new Chairman of the Board with immediate effect.
PROFILE OF SENATOR DAISY EHANIRE DANJUMA
Born: 6th August, 1952 in Benin City, Edo State
Board Appointment History: First appointed to the Board of Directors of our Company on 30th July, 1999 until 8th October, 2003; later reappointed on 30th May, 2019.
Education & Legal Career
Senator Daisy Ehanire Danjuma is a law graduate of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria with over 4 decades post-call experience, having been called to the Nigerian bar in 1977. She worked as a State Counsel in Lagos State Ministry of Justice (DPP) and was a pioneer legal counsel to the Legal Aid Council. She served as Company Secretary/Legal Adviser to the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) from 1982 to 1992.
Legislative & Parliamentary Service
Senator Danjuma served as a Senator from 2003 to 2007. She was a member of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association and chaired the ECOWAS Parliament's Women and Child Right Committee. She also led the Senate Committee on Women Affairs and Youth Development, and served on committees for Health, Education, Finance, and Land Transport of the National Assembly.
Corporate Leadership
She was the Chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited from 1999 to 2003. She is an alumnus of the Lagos Business School. Senator Danjuma currently serves as the Executive Vice Chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum Limited.
